Kagoshima the city is part of the Kagoshima prefecture that sits in the south western part of Kyushu island. Often referred to as the Naples of the Eastern World, Kagoshima has a hot climate and is home to the impressive stratovolcano Sakurajima. Stratovolcano's are also called composite volcano's and can occasionally erupt. They have a steep profile and are very impressive to look at. With only 40 minutes travel time from Kagoshima airport, Kagoshima boasts many retail outlets and shopping opportunities. Directly outside the city is the Senganen Japanese garden. Tourists won't get bored in this place since there is plenty to do. Kagoshima also features some great restaurants.
