Tokushima prefecture is located in the eastern part of Shikoku. To the north is the inland sea and to the south the Kii Channel and Pacific Ocean. About 80 % of the Tokushima prefecture is made up of mountains and valleys. The second highest peak is Mt. Tsurugi, standing proud at 1,955m. The mountain range in the region runs from east to west, which divides Tokushima into north and south. With many scenic spots along the great Yoshinogawa river, there is plenty of beauty in nature to be found. It only takes just about one hour to fly to Tokushima from Tokyo these days and access via rail and road is also available. A common way for tourists to get around in Japan are express buses.

Since most of the region is covered in mountains, valleys and hills, the majority of the population lives in one of the four major cities in Tokushima. With access close to water all around the prefecture, there is much abundance and rich nature in Tokushima. Properties are more available in the city but if you are very lucky, you might find a property hidden away from the masses somewhere in one of the valleys.
