Situated in western Honshu, Yamaguchi is a pleasant prefecture. Yamaguchi city is smack bang in the middle of the region and offers a friendly and pleasant welcome to visitors. The city's Rurikoji temple has beautiful features and a five storied pagoda. Kozan Park is the burial site of former local feudal lords, whereelse Joeiji Temple is famous for its Zen garden “Sesshutei”. Overall a great and historic place rich with culture, Yamaguchi city and surrounds will please most visitors without even trying to. One of the major attractions in the prefecture is the famous Kintai bridge. It consists of a five arced wooden structure and is seen as a symbol of western Honshu.
